Detailed Description

The BroodMinder-W5 Hive Weight Scale is the latest generation of BroodMinder’s hive monitoring technology, designed to replace the earlier BroodMinder-W model. It features an all-steel, powder-coated housing and a single 200 kg load cell that is temperature compensated for accurate weight readings across changing environmental conditions.

The scale measures up to 500 pounds of total hive weight and includes a 200% overload capacity for added durability. Weight data is recorded once per hour by default and can be stored for more than a year, with logging intervals configurable by the user.

The BroodMinder-W5 is fully compatible with the Bees app and the MyBroodMinder platform, allowing beekeepers to view, track, and analyze hive weight trends over time. Power is supplied by replaceable AA batteries, which are rated to last more than five years under normal operation.

For beekeepers who want full hive coverage, two W5 units can be paired together to function as a complete hive scale. The slim, weatherproof design makes the W5 suitable for permanent outdoor installation beneath hive equipment.
