About the Event
The Women’s Beekeeping Group is a bi-monthly social and educational gathering designed to support women who are curious about bees and beekeeping, regardless of experience level. This is not a formal beekeeping club, but a relaxed, inclusive space to learn, ask questions, and connect with others who share an interest in bees.
Each two-hour session includes:
-
A beekeeping talk or educational presentation
-
Group discussion and Q&A focused on women’s experiences in beekeeping
-
A hands-on, bee-related craft or activity
Crafts vary by month and may include projects such as beeswax art, simple handmade items, or other bee-inspired creations. Activities are designed to be approachable and enjoyable, with no prior experience required.

Launch Event
The first meeting will take place on March 10, in celebration of Women’s Month. Dr. Selina Bruckner and other women from the Auburn Bee Lab will speak about their beekeeping journeys, and the craft is still to be determined. This launch highlights the important role women play in beekeeping - just like the worker bees, all female and essential to the hive.
