EZPZ Swarm Cell Cage

The EZPZ Swarm Cell Cage is designed for beekeepers who harvest queen cells directly from frames. Instead of moving an entire frame of swarm cells to a split, each cell can be carefully cut with a sharp knife and placed into this protective cage to emerge safely in a queen bank or incubator. This way, you can evaluate the quality of your virgin queen before placing her in a split or mating nuc.

Detailed Description

Each EZPZ Swarm Cell Cage holds a single swarm cell securely until the virgin queen emerges. Use your fingers or the EZPZ Swarm Cell Cage Adapter to gently open the cage for evaluation or marking.

The cage includes small troughs for feeding, ensuring your queen has what she needs while in the cage. Made from UV- and heat-resistant PETG plastic, it’s designed for multiple uses with proper care.

These cages, along with the adapter, were co-developed with Aaron Weber, whose hands-on experience shaped the design from early prototypes to the final product.
