STORE OPERATIONS ASSIST
Foxhound Bee Company started in 2004 and focuses on teaching and equipping aspiring and current beekeepers. We are known for our high-quality beekeeping supplies, but also hold classes and open hive demonstrations for customers throughout the year.
Our store will be running limited hours to serve our local customers and our customers who drive in from out of town. We will also be holding special events and classes to support those interested in honeybees and beekeeping.
This position is perfect for the person with a flexible schedule that is able to commit to 3-5 days a week and is interesting in honeybees, wildlife, and nature. This is also great for the entrepreneurial person interested in seeing the inner-workings, the real nuts, and bolts of a small business that punches above their weight.
This position is for our first operations hire and are looking for somebody exciting about opening a new store and has a keen eye for logistics and setting up new systems. We want a person who is a self-starter and enjoys working on projects and working with customers.
Availability: January 2020
Pay: $10-$15 depending on previous experience and skills
Hours: 20-40 hours per week, depending on the season (our peak season is spring and summer)
Previous experience in retail, beekeeping, shopify , shipping and receiving, ship station and being a nice person a plus.
Work in a retail setting assisting customers, taking orders, taking payments and restocking the store as needed.
Good customer service and a willingness to help assist even without knowing the answer is essential.
Opening and closing store if necessary
Arranging and changing displays as necessary to make room for inventory.
Helping load and unload shipping trucks as necessary
Updating and contributing to the website and inventory system.
Assisting with classes and special events.
PICKING AND PACKING:
Foxhound Bee Company ships all over the United States to retail and wholesale customers, so picking orders and packing them into boxes for shipping is a regular responsibility.
Picking accurate orders for local customers to pick up and loading vehicles if needed.
Taking deliveries from shippers and adding to the inventory system as needed.
Need to be able to lift 50lbs.
We are a beekeeping and educational company, so we do keep honeybees on-site and off-site. Occasional work in the beehives and helping customers with their bees may be necessary.
It is not important to know beekeeping, but just to be willing to take part in our beekeeping business.
