Our 8 frame and 10 frame queen excluders are built with metal wires, a solid metal frame and welded contact points. Designed to only allow worker bees between the wires, excluding queen and drone bees from passing through the wires.
Commonly used for keeping the queen from laying eggs in honey boxes, they can be used for many uses. While they can restrict forager bees and slow honey production, this can be solved by giving the bees a top entrance for forager bees to use.
Queen excluders are very useful when making nucleus hives and creating a queenless box in preparation for a split. Some beekeepers also use them to discourage a new swarm from leaving their new hive.
