Detailed Description

The Steel Large Round Disc Entrance Reducer is designed to give beekeepers flexible control over hive entrances. The metal disc mounts over a drilled hole in a hive body, swarm trap, or nucleus box. A screw or nail placed through the center hole secures the disc while still allowing it to rotate.

By turning the disc, the beekeeper can quickly switch between four different entrance settings:

  • Closed to seal the hive during transport

  • Vented for airflow while keeping bees contained

  • Queen/drone excluder style opening

  • Wide open entrance measuring approximately 1 3/4 inches

These adjustable entrance dials are commonly used on swarm boxes and nucleus hives. When used on a bait hive or swarm trap, the entrance can be left open while waiting for bees to move in. Once a swarm occupies the box, the disc can be rotated to the closed position to secure the colony for transport.

This simple and durable entrance reducer makes it easy to manage airflow, bee movement, and hive security with a quick adjustment.
