Detailed Description

This 8-frame cypress deep brood box is designed to work with standard Langstroth beekeeping equipment and provides essential space for the queen to lay eggs. It forms the foundation of the hive’s brood area, giving bees the environment they need to raise the next generation.

Each box is made from 7/8-inch thick cypress boards, known for their natural resistance to rot and moisture. The smooth finish ensures easy handling and stacking with other hive boxes. You can purchase your box unassembled, assembled, or assembled and painted.

When you choose the assembled option, your brood box is built using Titebond wood glue and staples, providing exceptional durability. The painted option includes a primer coat followed by a layer of UV-resistant white paint, offering extra protection against the elements.

While this box can be used empty to house feeders such as baggie, Boardman, or top feeders, it is typically used with frames and foundations. To save on shipping and ensure compatibility, you can order the complete box with frames and foundation from our cypress kit page instead of purchasing pieces separately.

At Foxhound Bee Company, we take pride in crafting equipment that meets the needs of both new and experienced beekeepers. Our cypress hive components are built to last, ensuring reliability and ease of use in every apiary.

Best Customer Service

These boxes are so easy to put together, but I was still able to mess up. I put a handled side of board on the inside, but not before gluing and nailing it nice and tight. When I saw my error I quickly tried to pry it off with no luck. I busted the board into two. So now my box is ruined. I called Foxhound and they happily sent me a replacement board for free!
