Product Details

Our fresh bee pollen is local to Birmingham and is truly incredible. We sell our pollen in 4 oz and 8 oz containers and are a mixture of pollen from our local trees, grasses, and wildflowers. Every color of pollen granules is a different species of flower, creating a mosaic of colors from tan, yellow, orange, and even blues and purples.

Consuming local pollen is more beneficial to reducing plant allergies than eating honey alone. While eating pollen is very beneficial, a little goes a long way. A common serving of pollen is typically less than 1/2 teaspoon. It is wise to start by only eating a couple of grains and gradually increasing consumption as your body gets acclimated to the pollen.

We harvest pollen from our own beehives, being sure not to take more pollen than the bees can afford to give up. Bees use pollen for raising their young, so it is important the bees have plenty available to them. We harvest pollen during the spring and a little bit in the fall, but our supply is very limited.

Our pollen is very fresh and is not dried, allowing the pollen to maintain its natural softness and powdery texture when eaten. Because we do not dry our pollen, it is not shelf-stable and must be kept frozen. The naturally high moisture content in pollen will cause it to spoil if stored at room temperature.

Our pollen is only available for local pickup from our store in Birmingham. One ounce of pollen is approximately 2 1/2 tbsp.
