About The Course
This course is designed for people who are interested in beekeeping but want to understand what they’re truly signing up for before getting started.
Across 10 short lessons, we walk through the real considerations of beekeeping — including responsibility, time, cost, equipment, seasonal care, and bee health — in a way that is honest, approachable, and easy to follow.
The goal is not to push you into becoming a beekeeper.
The goal is to help you make an informed decision.
By the end of the course, you will know whether beekeeping fits your life, your expectations, and your goals — and what it would actually take to move forward if you choose to do so.
Adam Hickman
Adam Hickman is a master beekeeper with years of hands-on experience working with bees in real-world conditions. Through Foxhound Bee Company, Adam has helped thousands of new and experienced beekeepers learn how to care for bees responsibly, confidently, and sustainably.
Adam believes that good beekeeping starts with clear expectations and practical knowledge. This course reflects that philosophy — guiding people honestly through what beekeeping involves so they can decide if it’s the right path for them.
Amy Seiber
Amy Seiber is a retired high school art teacher with 26 years of classroom experience and has been keeping bees since 2014. She has completed both the Alabama Master Beekeeper Program and the Alabama Master Gardener Program.
Amy loves sharing her fascination with honeybees and other insects with anyone who is curious, and Foxhound Bee Company gives her a wonderful place to do just that. In addition to working in the retail store and teaching classes, she also creates beautiful beeswax candles.
