Detailed Description
The One Handed Queen Catcher is a practical tool for safely capturing and marking queen bees. Once the queen is located on a frame, the open grid allows her to enter the catcher. The beekeeper can then slide the grid closed using their thumb to safely confine her inside the tube.
Inside the catcher, the queen can be gently moved toward the grid by applying light pressure with a finger on the padded plunger. This positions the queen so her thorax is visible through the grid, making it easier to mark her with a queen marking pen.
The built-in safety stop prevents the plunger from applying too much pressure, helping protect the queen from accidental injury. The flexible grid can also be gently pressed to help hold the queen securely while marking.
This tool simplifies queen handling and makes marking queens faster and safer during hive inspections.
