The wooden handle has a classic round shape and stainless steel tines for removing capping from the honey comb.
The multiple tines are used to pick at cappings to expose the delicious honey underneath each capping, essential when extracting honey from frames. Even when using a knife or other uncapping tool, these scratchers are essential for opening the cappings other tools can't get to.
Capping scratchers can also be used to break open drone cells to disrupt the varroa reproduction life cycle or to inspect growing drones for varroa mites.
